Morrisville man charged with drugged driving after Royalton parking lot call
Vermont State Police said troopers called to a car circling a hardware store parking lot found the driver impaired, driving on a criminally suspended license and giving them false information.
ROYALTON, Vt. — A Morrisville man has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs after troopers were called to a car driving in circles in a Royalton hardware store parking lot, Vermont State Police said Friday.
Shawn Hickok, 39, also faces charges of driving with a criminally suspended license and giving false information to police, according to state police.
Troopers from the Royalton barracks went to the Aubuchon Hardware parking lot in Royalton on Oct. 29 after a caller reported a suspicious car circling the lot, police said. Troopers said they saw signs that the driver, later identified as Hickok, was impaired. They also found that he had given them false information and that his license was criminally suspended, according to police.
Hickok was arrested and taken to Gifford Medical Center, where he was medically cleared, before being brought to the Royalton barracks for processing, police said.
He was cited to appear in Windsor County court on Jan. 12, 2027, to answer the charges.
The charges are allegations, and Hickok is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
