Goldberg, Dionne spar over unclaimed property, iLottery in lone treasurer debate
The 12-minute WBZ-TV segment, which aired two days before Election Day, was the only time the candidates met face to face this campaign.
BOSTON — Massachusetts Treasurer Deb Goldberg and Republican challenger Elizabeth Dionne sparred over the state's handling of unclaimed property and the marketing of iLottery games in a 12-minute debate that aired Sunday on WBZ-TV, according to CBS Boston.
Goldberg, a Democrat seeking a fourth term, said she has "nothing to do" with a super PAC's ads and texts targeting Dionne and does not condone them, CBS Boston reported.
The debate was moderated by WBZ-TV political analyst Jon Keller. It was the only time the candidates met face to face this campaign. Goldberg declined an invitation to debate on GBH, and her campaign said it turned down the invitation because the station would not fact-check during the debate, State House News Service reported. The WBZ debate also had no live fact-checking.

Dionne, a former Belmont Select Board member, was endorsed last week by the Boston Globe editorial board.
Election Day is Tuesday.
