SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — A 34-year-old South Hero man was killed when his pickup truck left a highway on-ramp in South Burlington and crashed into a bridge pillar on the night of Nov. 3, Vermont State Police said Wednesday.
Tyler Goodrich was driving a 2018 Ram 1500 north on the ramp from Interstate 189 to Interstate 89 at about 9:36 p.m. when the truck went off the road and hit the pillar, according to troopers from the state police barracks in Williston.
Troopers and South Burlington firefighters and emergency medical crews found the truck in a ditch on the right side of the ramp, against the pillar. Goodrich was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said Goodrich was not wearing a seat belt. The front of the truck was destroyed.
The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time, according to the release. Police said neither impairment nor speed appeared to be factors in the crash.
State police asked anyone who saw the crash to contact the Williston barracks.
