LANDGROVE, Vt. — A Londonderry woman has been cited after police say she drove around a traffic flagger in a Landgrove construction zone, struck a second flagger who tried to stop her and then left, Vermont State Police said Saturday.
Nicole Crossman, 52, was cited for negligent driving and leaving the scene of a crash, police said.
The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. Oct. 19 on Hapgood Pond Road near Landgrove Road, according to state police. Police said Crossman, driving a 2013 Chevrolet Spark, entered the construction zone and went around a flagger who had signaled for her to stop.
Inside the work zone, she struck another flagger, Luke Bartley, 28, of Poultney, when he tried to stop her, police said. Bartley had minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital, according to police.
Police said Crossman drove away after hitting Bartley and was later found. The release does not say when or where she was located. Crossman was not hurt, and her car was not damaged, police said.
The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time, according to police.
Crossman is due to be arraigned Dec. 7 in Bennington County Criminal Court. The charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
