Randolph man, 21, charged with drunken driving in Royalton after report of erratic driving

Vermont State Police said troopers pulled over Axel Grady after a lookout alert for a vehicle all over the road near the Route 14 and Route 107 intersection.

A 21-year-old Randolph man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence in Royalton on Oct. 3 after troopers were alerted to a vehicle being driven all over the road, Vermont State Police said.

According to state police, troopers from the agency's Royalton barracks received a be-on-the-lookout alert at about 7:30 p.m. for a vehicle swerving across the roadway near the intersection of Vermont Route 107 and Route 14. Troopers found the vehicle and pulled it over on Route 14 near Route 107 for what police described as traffic violations they saw.

While speaking with the driver, identified by police as Axel Grady, 21, of Randolph, troopers saw signs that he was impaired, state police said. Grady was arrested and taken to the Royalton barracks, where he was released with a citation, police said.

He is due to appear Oct. 13 in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, in Windsor County to answer the charge of driving under the influence.

The charge is an allegation, and Grady is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
