Boston police arrest two Hyde Park men after drug raids on Georgetowne Drive

Officers seized crack cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana and ammunition while serving three search warrants, police said. Joshua Lewis, 26, and Brian Lender, 41, face drug and ammunition charges.

Two Hyde Park men were arrested on drug charges after Boston police searched two homes on Georgetowne Drive and stopped a man on the street, the department said.

Officers from the drug control unit in District E-5, which covers Roslindale and West Roxbury, worked with a Drug Enforcement Administration task force and the Youth Violence Strike Force on the investigation and obtained three search warrants, police said. The searches were carried out Sept. 8.

Police said officers saw a man leave one of the homes and stopped him nearby, where they found 20.7 grams of crack cocaine and about $1,123 in cash. Officers searching that home recovered 11.75 ounces of marijuana, a bag of crack cocaine, two bags of fentanyl, digital scales, packaging material, two rifle rounds, two shotgun shells, an extended magazine that holds 31 rounds and $160 in cash, according to the department.

At a second home on the same street, officers found a large plastic bag of a white powder, digital scales and drug packaging material, police said.

Joshua Lewis, 26, of Hyde Park, was charged with trafficking in a class B drug and possession with intent to distribute a class B drug. Brian Lender, 41, of Hyde Park, was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a high-capacity magazine, two counts of possession of a class A drug, possession with intent to distribute a class D drug and possession of a class B drug.

Both men were expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court. The charges are allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
