Glover man charged with fentanyl trafficking after Barton truck search
Vermont State Police say a search of a Ford F350 parked on Walker Lane in Barton turned up fentanyl, crack cocaine, guns and high-capacity magazines. Joshua Sabens, 40, is due in court in October.
A 40-year-old Glover man is facing drug and weapons charges after Vermont State Police searched a pickup truck in Barton, troopers said.
State police from the Derby barracks were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Walker Lane in Barton about 11 p.m. Aug. 12 and found a Ford F350 with Joshua Sabens inside, according to the agency. Troopers said they saw signs of criminal activity and seized the truck while they applied for a search warrant.
When the warrant was carried out, police said, they found fentanyl and crack cocaine, several guns, large-capacity rifle magazines and what they described as evidence of drug dealing.
Sabens is charged with fentanyl trafficking, dispensing cocaine, possessing a firearm while committing a felony, possessing a large-capacity magazine, having a loaded long gun in a vehicle and failing to present a loaded long gun, state police said. He was also arrested on a state Department of Corrections probation and parole matter, according to the release.
He is being held at Northern State Correctional Facility on $1,500 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 13 in Orleans criminal court, police said.
The charges are allegations. Sabens is presumed innocent unless and until he is convicted.
