Rescuers carried a 26-year-old Connecticut hiker about 1.6 miles down the Old Bridal Path in Franconia, N.H., after she was seriously injured in a fall, New Hampshire Fish and Game said.

A Stamford, Connecticut, woman was carried off Mount Lafayette in Franconia, N.H., on Oct. 15 after she fell and was seriously injured while hiking down the Old Bridal Path, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said Friday.

The department was told of an injured hiker on the trail at 12:55 p.m., according to its release. Conservation officers went to the trailhead along with 22 members of the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team.
