Boston police arrest Dorchester woman in Blue Hill Avenue stabbing

Police said GPS data from an electronic ankle monitor helped identify a 35-year-old woman as a suspect in the stabbing of a man on Blue Hill Avenue. She faces two assault charges and is presumed innocent.

Boston police arrested a Dorchester woman on assault charges after a man was stabbed on Blue Hill Avenue, the department said Friday.

Officers from the department's District 3 station in Mattapan were called to Blue Hill Avenue about 8:46 p.m. Sept. 10 for a report of a stabbing, police said. They found a man with several cuts to his neck and temple and began treating him, and he was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, according to the department.

Witnesses described the suspect as a woman with short hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and an electronic ankle monitor, police said. Investigators reviewed GPS data from the state's electronic monitoring program and said the records placed Jasmine Noiles, 35, of Dorchester, near the scene at the time.

Detectives later took a report on a separate incident in the district and identified one of the people reporting it as Noiles, police said. They said she matched the description of the suspect, was wearing an ankle monitor and had what appeared to be bloodstains on her sneakers. She was arrested after further investigation, police said.

Noiles was expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60 and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.

The charges are allegations, and Noiles is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
