Connecticut Department of Labor and Hartford Athletic to hold sixth annual hiring expo

The state labor department said the free job fair will bring employers and job seekers to Hartford's Trinity Health Stadium on Sept. 16. Employers can reserve tables through Sept. 7.

The Connecticut Department of Labor and the Hartford Athletic soccer club will hold their sixth annual Hiring Expo on Sept. 16 at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford, the labor department said Thursday.

The job fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to the department. Job seekers do not need to register in advance, and the department said they should bring copies of their resume.

The previous year's expo drew more than 1,000 job seekers and 80 employers, the department said, from fields including finance, education, health care, hospitality, manufacturing and policing.

Employers and recruiters can reserve a table through the Hartford Athletic website until Sept. 7, the department said.

The department said job seekers who want help with resumes, career services or a job search can contact their local American Job Center.

Hartford Athletic is Connecticut's only professional soccer club and plays in the USL Championship.

The department listed the expo's major sponsors as the Connecticut Department of Transportation, M&T Bank, Lyco Solutions, All Waste, Right at Home, the Connecticut Council on Problem Gambling, Obey the Orange, USA Waste & Recycling and Dattco.
