Sutton man, 19, charged with drunken driving after North Troy traffic stop

Vermont State Police said troopers pulled over a pickup truck on Route 105 after a report of erratic driving in North Troy and arrested the 19-year-old driver.

A 19-year-old Sutton man has been charged with driving under the influence after troopers stopped his pickup truck in North Troy, Vermont State Police said Monday.

Police said they received a report at about midnight on Sept. 25 of a pickup truck being driven negligently on South Street in the village of North Troy.

Troopers soon found the truck heading east on Vermont Route 105 in the village, according to police. While following it, troopers saw the truck fail to stay within its lane and pulled it over, police said.

The driver was identified as Jabari Carr, 19, of Sutton. Police said troopers noticed signs of impairment while speaking with him, and he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and taken to the state police barracks in Derby.

Carr was released with a citation to appear in Orleans County Criminal Court on Oct. 13 to answer the DUI charge, police said.

The charge is an allegation, and Carr is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
