Barre City man charged with threatening hospital workers in St. Johnsbury

Vermont State Police said Jason Fewer, 54, was also violating several conditions of release when troopers were called to the hospital on the night of Nov. 1.

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. — A Barre City man was arrested after he threatened several workers at a St. Johnsbury hospital on the night of Nov. 1 while violating conditions of his release, Vermont State Police said.

Jason Fewer, 54, is charged with three counts of violating conditions of release, along with criminal threatening and disorderly conduct, according to police. The hospital staff were listed as the victims.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks were called to the hospital at 9:18 p.m. to help with a situation there and spoke to everyone involved, police said. According to police, troopers found that Fewer was violating several of his conditions of release, had been making an unreasonable amount of noise and had threatened several hospital workers.

Fewer was arrested and taken to the St. Johnsbury barracks, police said. He was held at the Northeast Correctional Complex on $250 bail and was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court in St. Johnsbury on Nov. 2.

Police did not say what conditions of release Fewer was under or what case they stemmed from.

The charges are allegations, and Fewer is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
