NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. — A 74-year-old North Attleborough man died after a motorcycle struck him as he was on foot on Route 1 in the town, The Boston Globe reported, citing the Bristol County District Attorney's office.
Frank Yakimowsky was hit at about 5 p.m. near the spot where East Washington Street meets Rodney Road. He died that night, several hours later, according to the Globe's account of the information prosecutors released.
Emergency crews found Yakimowsky lying "in the middle of the roadway with [a] significant injury," officials said, as quoted by the Globe. A passerby was tending to him when police reached the scene, the newspaper reported. He was flown to a hospital in Rhode Island.
Police located the motorcycle, an orange Honda CBR, a block north of the crash site, according to the Globe. The person driving it was also taken to a hospital. Officials did not release that person's name or condition.
Officials have not said whether the driver will be charged, the Globe reported.
All of the details come from a single news report: the Globe's account, published Nov. 5, which attributes them to the district attorney's office.
